Description

Intelligent vortex flowmeter is a kind of flow meter which uses piezoelectric crystal as detecting element and outputs the standard signal proportional to the flow rate. The instrument can be used directly with the intelligent flow integrator, can also be used with the computer and distributed system to measure the flow parameters of different media. The meter is based on the detection principle of the fluid vortex street, the piezoelectric crystal of the vortex street detection does not contact with the medium, the meter has the characteristics of simple structure, good versatility and high stability, intelligent vortex flowmeter can be used for various gas, liquid and steam flow detection and measurement.


Working principle:


Intelligent vortex flowmeter is the basic principle of principle of karman vortex street,  namely "vortex frequency of vortex separation is proportional to the velocity".


The flow body diameter of the flowmeter is basically the same as the nominal diameter of the instrument. As shown in figure a,  circulation this insert in the body has an approximate isosceles triangle cylinder, cylinder to the axis of the measured medium flow direction and vertical, bottom, face to the fluid, when through the measured medium cylinder, alternately on each side of cylinder spiral, spiral continuously produce and separation,  formed downstream of the cylinder in staggered vortex of two columns, namely "vortex street". Theory analysis and experiment have shown that  separation vortex frequency is proportional to the column side of medium velocity.

f -- frequency of cylinder side vortex separation (Hz);


V─ column side velocity (m/s);


d -- width of the column facing surface (m);


Sr -- Strauhal number. Is a constant that depends on the profile of the cylinder and is largely independent of the fluid properties and velocity.
